“Get busy living or get busy dying.”

January 7, 2009

I’ve recently discovered that I have not one but two – possibly three HBO channels. I do not pay for these channels nor are they on my channel line-up. I don’t have digital cable so there’s nothing “On Demand” or any of that fancy business. At first I thought it could just be one of those promo things where HBO throws a couple of free movies out there during the holidays to get you to buy MORE tv, but it’s still around and kicking out shows.

In all honesty, I rarely frequent the higher numbered channels on tv. I hover in the 50s & 60s between USA (for law & order), the ESPNs, and then on through the cartoon channels and Discovery channels. Anyway, HBO2 should actually be renamed the “Shawshank Redemption” channel, because that’s all it plays – all the time. Well Red, I’ve definitely been busy living.

I’ve been up earlier, which thankfully leads to getting out of work earlier, and cramming as much into the evenings as possible. Monday evening was spent checking out the theater that the group I’m working with will be using, then making my house livable once again. Did I mention that I got “hired” as a set designer for 5 short plays in February? Well I did! I say “hired” because I’m getting paid with coffee and company – which is just fantastic by me. Last night was spent listening to the first read throughs at a cast rehearsal, unpacking new bookmaking supplies, and watching the new hour of Scrubs! I’ve been in bed around 11 every night, but I’m still feeling a little steamrolled.

Tonight’s goals include:
1. getting off of work at 5
2. stepping on the wii fit for at least 30 minutes
3. cranking out 3 sets of softcover notebooks! (which will hopefully be in the store tomorrow!)
4. sketch out a plan for the shop this month – ie: products, quantities, completion dates.

Have you noticed that I like lists? Well I do!
